Bump-Its?

I guess if Britney can have multiple come-backs, so can The Bump-it. If you've noticed there's been a serious lack of Bump-It activity on this here blog. I apologize. I'm only as good as your contributions. This is shared guilt, friends.

Well, get ready. According to at least two sources...they're back.

Latest Hairstyles (where I get a lot of ideas and tutorials for my hair stuff) posted this.

And a fan sent me an email showing Cosmo had this in their latest issue:

This.is.real.people.

Get your camera phones ready. I'm counting on you.

Leaves fall, Bump-its rise...

A good friend from college sent me this with the phrase, "for your bump-it collection". That made me laugh. Never fancied myself as a collector but I'm not going to deny the allegations.

And this little snap shot of goodness came straight from the Idaho state fair from cousin Jessica! Or is it Iowa? Hmmm, can't seem to remember.

I'm not gonna lie, I'm kinda hoping someone is able to spot and capture a world series bump-it. Pretty sure that's a widespread desire, right? I'll let you know.

Hot bump-its in the summertime...

Trivia question: Is this a bump-it or a teased poof? Thanks JulieW, hope your team bumped up your score!

Anne, please tell me you stopped this woman and told her there's an animal on her head? Maybe she was just hiding concessions under there to sneak into the ball game?

Becky, please tell me you got Snook's autograph?

This one came from Mary Beth with this note:
The story behind the picture: The day before Mother's Day, I took my mom, brother, and nephew to the Cards game. A few rows ahead of us sat Bump-it. I wasn't really paying attention, but at one point she turned her head and I thought to myself "MUST...GET...PICTURE". I sat with the camera at the ready just waiting for her to turn her head, like a hunter waits for its prey. She turned, I snapped, and smiled with joy. Then I explained to my mom that I took a picture of a stranger to e-mail to another stranger, who's not really a stranger, though we've never met. I got a "my daughter is crazy" look from my mom.

Keep them coming, peeps, nothing delights me like getting these pics in my inbox. Btdubs, if you sent me one that hasn't been featured yet, I'd love a resend. Had a little problem with my email a bit ago.

Some men send flowers...

Last week when everything went down, Russ (on business in China) sent me this pic to cheer me up.

It's good to know the Bump-it is an international phenomena.

Bumpin' the fund raising...

My Friday Fun for you is merging my love for Bump-It sightings with our fund raising efforts.

The only way to start the weekend.

You're welcome.

2 great things I love love love about my blog community is your support of our family and your equal support of Bump-It findings.

1. I got an email from my cyber friend Emily. (first of all, go to her blog and see her new little man, he's C.U.T.E.) Even better than the pic is the email that came with it.

"A little over a week ago a woman with one of the best "bump its" I have ever seen appeared on my tv screen. I have never seen anything like it.
I immediately thought of you. So I started taking a picture of the tv screen. My husband was totally confused. It didn't help when I told him I had to send this photo to a woman I have never met. :)"

2. Fund raising: Yesterday I spent all day holding tears back at work as Jodie texted me with how many mini-sessions were filling up. Today I cried pretty much the entire way to work. I can NOT believe the response from you guys over the last 48 hours on our first fund raiser. God is so good and we are crazy blessed by all of you. Thank you thank you thank you and thank you!

3. The youngest Bump-it on record:

That sweet baby girl, N, could teach us all a little something...

4. Fund raiser #2: At this very moment Russ is in the studio recording another worship album. To make the up-front investment smaller on our parts, we will only be selling it for download, we're not producing any actual CDs. I will let you know the minute that project is finished and ready for download.

I'm going into this weekend so absolutely blessed, you have no idea. Thank you for everything!

Defending The Bump-it.

In case you didn't catch it (status update), I was eliminated from the jury. Didn't make the cut. Get off my case, okay? (ha!) But what was more interesting? The Defendant was totally sporting a bump-it! I was giddy.

A few highlights I forgot from yesterday. At the very beginning of the day they ran out of number/name tags so they were paging people by name. They definitely kept paging someone named Harry Johnson.

Secondly, they had a list of "rules" once we got into the courtroom. #3 under 'No firearms' and 'Turn off your phones' was "Pull up your pants."

And because I have no shame, I will share the final feature of the day. They were doing a role call and asked everyone to simply say "here." The mature and non-awkward person that I am choked when they called my number. I started to say "me" but remembered half-way through that I was supposed to say "here" so yelled, "Mere!"

Speaking of Bump-its, you guys were busy this weekend!

Sounds Fair...(Illinois State Fair) Thanks Sarah S!

Btdubs, I don't want you to hear what I'm not saying here: I don't hate the Bump-It. On the contrary, I own one. It came w/ my favorite Spin Pins. Just so we're clear. Or "Mere", as the case may be.

Nurse Bump-It!

Not only is my friend Katie bumpin' it but she's also a newly certified RN! Congrats Katie, you chose a fantastic way to celebrate.

**It should also be known that she was challenged to a triple bump-it, hence the height. I've never been so proud.

Bits of my weekend, vol. 16

I should probably apologize for the crazy amounts of photos from this weekend, but I think I do that every Sunday, so consider this a blanket apology from hence forth. However, I do have a special surprise from Russ' show Saturday night. It's at the very bottom...

More family in town this weekend! First we were off to the zoo!

To the sting-rays!

So very many monkeys at the zoo!

The cute Howard family!

This penguin was SO CLOSE to Macy and just kept getting closer.

The heat + lots of walking like a big boy + staying up too late = this face.

"Psst! Hey eliot, let's go to City Garden since it's so h.o.t.!"

Get it, Eliot, get it!

Saturday night Russ had a show downtown St. Louis. (photo stolen from Mike R.)

Fundies Undies!

Who doesn't match their nail polish to their ice cream? That's good planning, folks.

On Sunday we got out and Eliot tried his new bike. We're moving up around here...new bed, new bike! Ahhhh! Somebody slow it down!

And without further ado...it's a DOUBLE BUMP-IT!!!! Julie, that's for you!

True friends...

read your facebook status and then send you pics like this! HA!

Do you see it? That is a 'bump-it' in full effect. If your head looked like this ten years ago a doctor would make you wear a helmet until your cranium looked normal again.

Last week I was at an Excel conference (yes, you read that right) and had to sit behind a whole row of bump-it patrons. If that's not FB status worthy, I don't know what is. That night I got home and this little treat above was in my inbox from my friend Julie.

It delighted me. So much so that I made it a category on my blog, hoping others will send me more. I'm hoping to inspire an army of bump-it spotters across the country. From sea to shining sea. Perhaps I could make a spreadsheet out of the data. Or just leave it at this one. So, go...go Bump-it Brigade! Spot, click, and send.

**I do not condone nor judge the use of said bump-it.

***If you say "bump-it" over and over, it no longer sound like a real word/phrase but more like a speech impediment on your way to saying something else.

****The original title to this post was "friends don't let friends bump-it, they just take pictures' but that sounded a bit off. You're welcome.
